Andy Mr. Krabs got his new summer clothes today. He will look better when I paint him and get rid of that horrible join line. Thanks for the stickers Andy.

I am pleased the sticker guy is learning to spell.

The SAAB is only good for a boat stand at the moment. I am waiting for the mechanic to come back from his holiday to bolt a new Turbo on. I screwed the manual boost controller up to high to blow Volvos away (sorry Chuck) and a seal went in the Turbo. Cheaper to bolt a guaranteed used one on than to repair the old one. It is just a car to me.

Andy I took the NS 3 to the lake this morning and ran a smaller prop than last time. It was a little slower but the esc was cooler. Maybe I will water cool the esc and try the X642 and see how things go.
                  Setup this morning.... Neu 1512, 4S & X640.
2 videos of this mornings runs for you to watch...

That looks like it is going well. Please water cool that esc and then try the 42mm prop. I have found my mono's tend to go better with larger props with less pitch in this case like a m442, you could try a x440/3 as well. The boat looks like the ride is just about right and that little motor seems to suit it. What was the temps of motor and packs? How hot was that uncooled esc getting?

Andy the motor was 95, battery 128 and esc 145 and I like the esc cooler than that. I need to buy another Barracuda 120 or 180 or one of the new CC 240's so I can leave this esc water cooled. Always something to spend money on.

BTW that prop arrived and Mr. Krabs will test it in the morning. Nice cupping job. A very nice looking prop. Your best work yet I think.

Andy I took Mr. Krabs and my NS 3 out this morning. That prop you cupped is magic. I thought it would push the motor out the front of the boat it accelerates so hard. Only got to try it on a cold battery as for some reason it got water on the receiver and that was that but it was showing 104 kph and not full throttle on a cold battery. I have never had it go past 97 on a cold battery before and there was still a little throttle left. It was like I was driving a different boat. I really think big things are coming for Mr. Krabs. It is a bit of a fish that got away story but this time Mr. Krabs excited me.

I put the Data Logger in the NS3. You can see the picture below. You were close when you said 140 amps. As you can see max amps was 143.90 amps. That is on the Barra 120. Me thinks some smoke could come out if I push it much harder and once the smoke comes out they stop running . That was on the X640 and 1512 motor. Put your thinking cap on and we will talk more about it over a Scotch on the phone.

Paddy I am glad that prop works well, a happy ending to a mad experiment! Those 140 amps look strange all peaks and no long runs. Where you on and off the throttle a lot? One of those ETI 150 race esc'c would fit the bill. Everyone is saying they are a strong underrated esc. I would try a detounged x442 a little less pitch but with the extra couple of mm in diam it will hook up a bit better. That motor realy is a 26-30" hydro motor though.

Andy this conversation would have been much more fun over the phone, sucking on a Scotch and telling Douggie jokes. LOL
As far as all peaks and no long runs goes it may be the way I set it up on the software. I will go back and check my settings when I have time. Anyway peaks is what we want to know about. I think it is ok as long as I water cool the esc and keep the runtime down a bit. That Barra just keeps saying "give me your best shot" and takes it on the chin but even a champ can be knocked to the ground by a Tasmanian and a shotgun.
Agree with you about the ETTI 150. It would be better to have a dedicated esc for this boat. I will order a few props at the same time and ask Steven V to send the props to your door. The motor is doing fine in the mono and is running cool. Tasmanian water is colder than your water by about 20 degrees.
I got that motor that Heath was selling. Thanks for your help in that deal. I laughed until I cried when I read your comments on Heaths thread. We really are a pair of *&%$#%$ arent we? I hope to be able to test the Xs2 with that motor by this time next week. I will start with an X640 first I think.
I am drying everything in Mr. Krabs. Just the top 1/3 of the sponsons were sticking out of the water so as you can imagine all the electrics were soaked. I gave it a quick run (on the kitchen table) this morning and everything still works but I am giving it more sun time to make sure it is dry. I will have to track down why the water got in the hull. That boat always comes in dry so something must have happened somewhere.
I will go and clean the Glock up for tonights fun.
