Thats great! Here is another from the same era. Always thought I was born to late, most of my favorite music came out of the 50's

Love this girls voice, don't know much else about the band, one of those one album wonders I guess. There are a few good mellow ones off this album.

Something different, not sure what it is I like about this one, probably the crazy video! Or the fact that it's just strange. I do really like the guitar line.

YES YES YES !!! I just pisses me of when Clapton is described as the guitar "God". Stevie Ray cranked out real emotional virtuosity and knew how to blend guitar playing with powerful vocals into true masterpieces. Of course Knopfler, in his minimalist playing also conveys the intent of the instrument perfectly as well as does another favorite of mine :

Give me Stevie Ray, Page, Knopfler, Carlos (all the pain of the Universe is in my guitar) Santana, Cray, or Beck any day of the week.

I think this has already been posted, but here's Beck showing HOW IT'S DONE : (spoiler alert : you'll get actual goosebumps)

Excellent ! Tight instrumentals - early Spector violins, ultra-catchy hooks, bouncy rythems, love the existential lyric content (" If you could see me, whoever I am")

the song 'Home By the Sea' is about a burglar who breaks into a house only to find it is a haunted prison. The burglar is captured by the ghosts who force him to listen to their stories for the rest of his life - "let us relive our lives in what we tell you".

    LYRICS

Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall
stealing through the dark of night
Climbing through a window, stepping to the floor
checking to the left and the right
Picking up the pieces, putting them away
    something doesn't feel quite right

Help me someone, let me out of here
then out of the dark was suddenly heard
welcome to the Home by the Sea

Coming out the woodwork, thru the open door
    pushing from above and below
shadows with no substance, in the shape of men
round and down and sideways they go
adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair
then as one they sigh and they moan

Help us someone, let us out of here
    living here so long undisturbed
dreaming of the time we were free
    so many years ago
before the time when we first heard
welcome to the Home by the Sea

    Sit down Sit down
Sit down Sit down Sit down
as we relive our lives in what we tell you

Images of sorrow, pictures of delight
things that go to make up a life
endless days of summer longer nights of gloom
    waiting for the morning light
scenes of unimportance, photos in a frame
things that go to make up a life

Help us someone, let us out of here
cos living here so long undisturbed
dreaming of the time we were free
    so many years ago
before the time when we first heard
welcome to the Home by the Sea

    Sit down Sit down
Sit down Sit down Sit down Sit down
as we relive our lives in what we tell you
let us relive our lives in what we tell you

Sit down Sit down Sit down
    cos you won't get away
no with us you will stay
for the rest of your days - Sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you
Let us relive our lives in what we tell you
