California is a good preview of where the country is headed as a whole. It's been that way ever since I can remember.
The good news is that occasionally we get a warning shot across the bow, like this one. Let's hope more people realize that.

Anchor baby: The child of an illegal alien that is tacitly given "citizen" status, thereby making all their relatives "quasi-citizens".
Yes it does really matter. Should we provide healthcare to every child on the planet? Half of the childern on the planet? Just the children of selected nations? Where would you draw the line? I suggest that line should be drawn at our borders. We cannot afford to provide healthcare to the entire population of the planet. A line must be drawn somewhere.
These people leave their crappy, third-world countries and come here illegally; they have no intention of "assimilating" or becoming "Americans", then turn their neighborhoods into a crappy third-world ghettos.
Tell them to take their criminal butts back to their own countries and work on changing them, just like Tom Jefferson, John Adams, and a host of other gentlemen of the period did with this country.
We are not the World's keeper. We only have the responsibility to show them what works and what doesn't.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolves

Ok. They are inside our borders. We're not even providing healthcare to all our own citizens. Not even a majority of them are criminals. Many live in middle class america.Originally posted by Dr. Jet View PostAnchor baby: The child of an illegal alien that is tacitly given "citizen" status, thereby making all their relatives "quasi-citizens".

If we are not the world's keeper, then please explain Iraq, the middle east for that matter. Let's not fall victim to stereotypical views.Government Moto:

An interesting point. We in Canada have the same problem. I came to to Canada as an immigrant and did not join any Scottish societies or live in an enclave of my peers. I embraced the new society, but still proud to be of Scottish birth and family connections

Yes, Dr. Jet, you are a better person than the "illegals" and their babies. Happy now? Some people have the guts to do what they need to for them and their families to survive. Illegal or not. Do you want these third world idiots spreading disease and infection? I surely doubt it. But hey, they don't deserve health care right?

Maybe so, but why is 1/3 of the prison population ILLEGAL aliens?Originally posted by domwilson View Post...... Not even a majority of them are criminals..... Many live in middle class america.
That's another topic for another debate. We are talking government-funded healthcare here.Originally posted by domwilson View Post...... One of the prerequisites for LEGAL immigration is a health screening. Did you know that tuberculosis and other diseases that were almost non-existent in this country are now mysteriously on the rise? Does “Swine Flu” or more appropriately named “Mexican Flu” ring a bell? When these criminals sneak across our borders, what diseases are they bringing with them?Originally posted by Rumdog View PostDo you want these third world idiots spreading disease and infection? When Ellis Island was screening LEGAL immigrants, if you had T.B., you weren’t allowed in. Tough luck buddy, go back to your country and take your virus/bacteria with you.
Have you ever studied epidemiology? You might be frightened to know how diseases propagate.
Keeping ILLEGAL aliens out better serves the health of U.S. CITIZENS.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolves
