my mean machine haven't arrive yet so I've decide to test on my drifter s instead, my first run with the 180A esc, the boat goes slow, so I've decide to set the cutoff at 2.8v/cell as the default is set at 3.2v/cell. The boat goes pretty fast after that setup, the problem is from the battery, as new battery will not have issue on this as from what I've previously tested on the 60a esc before. So if u decide to use this esc, and your boat goes not as expected, just set the cutoff to 2.8v/cell. For the 180a it has built in superBEC 5.8A/3A, and I don't think it need an external BEC. I like the caps, it uses three 1000uf 35v caps. Which is good for the ripple current.Stiletto tunnel,EPV135 (53") twin cat, CT06"Spirit of Qatar", FD 47" mono, Twin Mini Cat 23.5"
