Looking for something cheap, bought a MRP Miss Bud and the twin oldschool brushed motors just aren't fitting the bill, won't even get on plane. I'm not looking to spend much, just thought I'd give this a try here. Thanks guys!

I might have a Seaking 180V2 (added caps) with a leopard 4082 1600kv in a few days. The motor has about 20 runs and the ESC would be brand new. I would ask $185 shipped...
Forgot to add, the water jacket is included. Don't know what your version of cheap is....Why are you bothering me? I want to see your boat!

Thanks, not trying to make this a $500 boat, was looking possibly in the $100 or less range. Thanks for the offer!Originally posted by Spartanator View PostI might have a Seaking 180V2 (added caps) with a leopard 4082 1600kv in a few days. Thanks for the heads up!!! Picked up 2 Venom 7.4 3300 mah NiMh's. Someone had suggested 2s lipos, but was in the mind set "keep it simple"Originally posted by Luck as a Constant View PostWayyyy too much power for that hull.....

Are they new batteries? Have you made sure both motors are working on their own and the drivelive is spinning freely?
Hobbypartz is where you will find what you need for 100 bux.
2s lipos would be an upgrade but you could use the Nimh cells.
Any idea what the gear ratio is? That would bd useful to know before I recommend a kv brushless....

I purchased the batteries new off ebay, they were in sealed boxes, I have not put a charge on them as of yet, figured they'd come with a full charge. Haven't dropped any coin on a charger yet either, was supposed to hit up a local hobby shop today and see if they would possibly charge them for me and recommend a charger. I have my eye on a few used ones on ebay. This was intended to simply toy around in a small pond behind my house.Originally posted by Luck as a Constant View PostAre they new batteries? I've seen a few new setups for under $100 but questioned quality, IIRC I was looking at a Turnigy setup from Hobby King.
I have no idea what the ratio is, I could pull the gears, but would you recommend a twin setup in the original location with the same gearing? A guy on this forum did this same hull with a single mounted brushless, with the motor forward of where the stock setup is, I could make a bracket for a single setup, but don't want to mod the shaft.
Both motors spin freely, as a brushed motor does, the shaft spins fine too.

One brushless motor will be plenty.
Turnigy seems ok. Tacon are good cheap motors too
Try running stock on new batteries.
Chargers are inexpensive. Hobbyking or hobbypartz.
I prefer hobby parts because shipping is fast. Over 50 bux it's free too.

Are these the batteries you used on your boat with the original set up and you could not get it on plane ??????

They are the batteries I tried on her first run. I am still on the search for a charger on ebay, trying to get something AC/DC and decent quality. I will get them charged and give her another go!Originally posted by eboat View PostAre these the batteries you used on your boat with the original set up and you could not get it on plane ??????
