    Looking for 8 s Batteries

I am planning on building a 1/8 scale hull. What are you guys using for 8 s batteries? I looked at Hobby King but the highest C rating was 25 is that where the 8 s are? Looking for best performance with the best pricing. Thank You Jerry

We use 4s packs not actual 8s packs. You can use two 4s packs in series for 8s or you can use four 4s packs in a series/parallel setup for 8s2p. I would imagine 2p would be best..

          Jerry,

You will want get 4s 5000mah 45c batteries for the best performance. These are Turnigy NanoTech's and they are available from the USA whse.
What motor and KV are you planning on running? Depending on the KV you may want to run 10s.

I can only assume by the 1/8 hull that you will be running 8s power total..........which is a bit low but is workable with a 1100kv or less motor and a minimum of a Neu 1527, a 5692, or a Castle 2028 etc.............

If this is the case you will need to run 8s2p.................two parallel sets of 8s batts, or four 4s batts, two in series then paralleled.

I would NOT buy Nano's..........i have heard much more negative reviews about them than positive.

If you go with HK batts, try Zippy's or Turnigy.

Here are some that will work...............you need four:

These are in the USA warehouse and will get to you in 3-4 days and wont be real expensive to ship.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Ok guys I have changed direction I am going to run a Neu 1527 1.5Y on 10 s. I have been looking at Gens Aces but can't find 45c I have a set of nano's and I am not that impressed. Based on 10s I am going to look to run 1P so 2 5000's what are your thoughts on this.I think I will have the room and get the most bang on power. I am also new to FE so I have some learning to do. Looking for guidance.

What's your runtime requirements? With 1p its most likely going to be much less than 5 minutes..

Steve I would like to heat race with this hull.As I mentioned I am new to all this and looking for direction. What would you suggest for batteries and ESC. I was looking at a FighterCat ESC but I am open to ideas. Again this hull will be used in heat racing only. Thanks Jerry

Thanks for the feedback on the Nano's!! I was actually going to try some myself this year because I just wanted get more for my money but will probably stick to the Hyperions. I have never had a failure with them.

The scale heat races are 6 laps and last about 1:20 so 1p should work with the 1.5y.
This motor is a great choice for scale.
