WTB (or trade for) Skeg Strut & long rudder

Dialing in the MM; need skeg strut for 3/16 shaft to improve stability in turns. Got a longer rudder ? I have a SP .21 but requires a fair amount of mods to make it fit the existing rudder bracket so whatch'a got ?

    Thanks,

Looks like someone needs to fire up a CNC machine to fill this void.

I too would like a couple of skegged 3/16" strut the right size for a 30"'ish hull.

      Tony,

Your best bet may to look at Octura skegged struts. I am pretty sure Speedmaster does make any 3/16" struts.

I have the Octuras but, they are a tad short. It's riggable on my cat I suppose.

I hear you, Tyler & Ray. Thing is the Octuras are a little small & the Speedmasters are pricey. May have to seek out the aluminum welder I used to enlarge a Hyperformance Angle drive a while ago and make one myself out of the existing one

            Tony,

Would an Octura .150 cable skeg strut work?

Tyler, any way you could show the dimensions ?

( BTW my JS is in the mail. You know you want one !)

                T,

I'll get some dimensions for you tonight. The strut takes a 3/16" stub, but a .150 size cable due to the bullet nose on the front.

BTW, the only way I will ever run a JS is if I can shoehorn a 3080 in there.

                  T,

My stuffing tube diameter is stepped down where it enters the strut to .250. If the strut ID is smaller I could drill to fit (I think).

A JS with a 3080 should have wings (and a parachute). I'll check with the scale guys ....
