Trade UL-1 Superior for a catamaran.

Hello everybody, I am pondering putting my Aquacraft UL-1 Superior up for trade. I am looking for a decent catamaran. My aquacraft is in sweet condition and well taken care of. Right now its running an aquacraft 45 amp esc w/ 1550kv motor. I also have the original 2250kv motor for it.

Maybe a trade. I just got the boat at the end of this summer used and ran it a couple of times.
I also would like to be honest. I had a problem with the boat shutting off. I put on new
battery connectors and that seemed to fix it because it ran awesome but the last time I was
down the lake I lost power so I took the thing apart at the lake and it seem to me it was
the power on-off switch or bad battery. I turned the switch off and on again and ran it.
One of the batteries that came with the boat looks like it went thru world war three and
the other is brand new.
Don't get me wrong the boat is in perfect shape and not a pice.

Good to meet you Gun', your new here so I assume your a fairly new boater. I appreciate your honesty, and so will the rest of the OSE community. I am not 100 % sure, but I bet your problem lies in you radio system. If thats stock, its a 27mhz AM radio. AM is old, outdated and basically extinct. Lemme guess, you were running the boat, it went dead and when you rearmed the system (turn off and back on) it ran fine. A common problem when running a radio that should never be used for a boat.

At a minimum, you need a decent 2.4ghz system. A stock Pro Boat spektrum radio w/ MR200 receiver is a good reliable choice for 1 boat.
I have a pro boat radio and a tactic ttx-240, both seem to be excellent budget boat radio's.

At some point you'll need a retrieval boat to get your boat back when something goes wrong with it (believe me, at some time, it will) and you don't have a raft, and don't wanna swim to get it.

Anyway, if you want to keep boating, good for you. Before you run it again. you should look into a decent radio system for it. Your probally looking at about $100 give or take a lil bit. Check out these threads here, it might help.

Hi GS, No the boat is fairly new and the raido is a pro Boat. I think it is a connection with the old bat. I am new to electric boats but
use to run nitro hydros. I use to work in a local hobby store for years but been out of rc for at least 10yrs. The new boats are sick.
The first thing i bought after the boat was a retrieval boat,lol. I also just got a AquaCraft UL-1 and was wondering what is a good
set of lipos to put in it? Everyone on here is awesome. I just found this site. The BJ is a good boat but it is just sitting around because
i got the hydro and that is what i'm use to running. I would like a spare hydro to build.

Trade UL-1

Heya tommy, the ul-1 comes with 2 2S 5000mah lipos in series. They push a 2030kv motor w/ 60 amp esc. This is a sweet setup and works well. However a lot of people, including me have issues with them. For some reason we just cant get them to plane out very well.

So we play with battery placement or run a single 4S lipo moved to the middle part of the boat instead. If your still interested in another hydro to build, I may trade my extra UL-1 hull + hardware for your Blackjack, If I can come up with the money for shipping, I guess we'll see ??.
