I had this crazy idea back when I was in college to design and build my own boat hull. Then bolt on all the parts and run it 70 mph. I actually got pretty far, pulled the hull and deck out of molds that I built from CNC cut foam plugs, trimmed everything, and almost started installing stuff.

But, I got a dream job offer, moved across the country, got engaged, and the project never made it out of the garage it started in. It's kinda sad looking back, but I don't see myself getting back into it any time soon. And I have a wedding to pay for.
