( I was unaware there was insulation in the receiver, none of my 8 futaba receivers have insulation in them so i'm a little confused on the statement of insulation hanging out)

I did check with my friend. He said that the receivers never got wet. Also I reread my comment above. I meant to say that there were a couple of nicks in the insulation on the outside of the antenna wire.
