IDK if you are aware of this but CC had a problem with these and the other surface and air controllers and they actually kinda recalled them to upgrade some components, I think it was better FETS and a gate latch that kept any further fet shorts or failures from going back through the gate frying the delicate control circuits that drive the fets. This upgrade didn't really make the controller any better but it made it easier to repair...

here is a link to another posting at ultimate RC, it explains briefly what happened and the coverage and scope of this issue and it even covered the 3rd gen controllers, I'm pretty sure this is why they no longer make boat ESC's
And from that reading High-tech :
" The only controllers that are properly modified and are approved for operation will be labeled clearly as Ice 2 HV (Amp Rating), Mamba XL 2 and Hydra Ice 2 HV. " And this is what is pictured. You must install a piece of foam to hold the mini board in place as per service advisory.
