Motor and esc came together today and they appear to be in pretty good shape. Bench testing good and installed in poor old Miss Gieco. Now the girlfriend has a boat and I won't cry when she flips it!
Thank you and thanks for working with me on the shipping!
I am trying to take the cover off my motor no luck so far. what is CA glue and what are the right tools.
Thanks
CA Glue = cyanoacrylate, which is basically "super glue" (the fast setting stuff you squirt out of the tiny bottle rather than the two-part epoxies). And I should add it comes in different varieties depending on what material types you are bonding.
The way I un-threaded the front cover was by a method similar to removing the case-back of a wrist watch, if you've ever seen/done that. I have some phenolic clamps with long flat surfaces by which I clamped onto two metal dowels nearly the exact diameter of the vents on that cover. Insert the dowels into two of the ventilation holes on oposite sides of the shaft (gently so as not to disturb the windings) and you can unscrew it by hand...in other words, don't put the motor in a vise like I've seen on some youtube videos. You might get the same result by simply bolting the Pro Boat motor mount onto the front cover and clamping onto it, but I would fear shearing a bolt or bending the aluminum mount before you overcome the forces of the glue.
