Do you have the instruction booklet that came with it? Can you take a close up shot of the cracks on the top of the hull that you mentioned? I am seriously considering buying it but I want to make sure all is well with it before I green light the deal.

For that $ its a steal airman, and i can almost guarantee the cracks are very small gel coat stress cracks. witch are completely normal.
The one i had back in the day I let a buddy of mine drive, he ended up tee boning a pontoon boat with it at about 35mph!!! it put a good sized dent in the aluminum tube on the tooner, and the super g came out with only a scratch that later on buffed out!!! i was amazed. i did not see it hit the boat, but it sounded like it should have been in pieces.

Jim's RC Boat Dock. just like OSE, but for gassers.

Thank you very much for the information - I appreciate it! I have been strictly brushless up to this point but I am growing tired of lipos so I thought I might give a gas boat a try. From what you can see of his pictures at the beginning of this thread, does this boat appear to have the older style Homelite engine or newer Zenoah 23cc engine installed? Thanks again! :)Originally posted by steinersamuel View PostFor that $ its a steal airman, and i can almost guarantee the cracks are very small gel coat stress cracks. witch are completely normal.

Nope, its the new G23 zenoah motor. They r super reliable, and thats what makes them fun. U will like it. Its reliable like a brushless setup, but will pound over the rough stuff if a big way. This is in my opinion, the best way to get into gas boats. If i ever got back into gas, its what i would have again. Hope it works out airman, i'll send philly a bill lol!!

Here are the pics. Its hard to get clear ones as the cracks are so thin. They are just cracks in the paint. Once I discovered them I put a small sheet of fiberglass and epoxy on the inside of the hull and it hasn't changed since. Also, I have all the original paper work including the manual for the engine.
If you look closely you can see the small cracks. Sorry I can't go that low. I'm assuming it's going to cost at least $100 to ship. Does anyone know? The price does not include shipping. I paid $800 for this new and it only has a few runs on it.

Philly, thank you for the clarification and extra picture. By my estimate, shipping via FedEx will be between $50 and $100 based on the weight and dimensions of the original box. Can you please get me a quote from FedEx based on the correct weight of the package you put the boat in as well as the dimensions to zip code 55445? I will buy the boat as described by you in thisbthread for $400 plus exact shipping and insurance costs. Please insure the boat for our agreed upon price. Please send me the shipping quote and then we can do the PayPal transaction. Do we have a deal?Originally posted by philly123 View Post

Way too high. Can you find a smaller box and still protect it safely? The boat is 15" wide. The most I can go on shipping is $125. I will not PP until I get an exact quote.Originally posted by philly123 View PostSo on the Fedex website I put in all the information. 50by25by25 inches to be safe, declared value of 400, and a weight of about 25 lbs and its saying shipping will be just under $200.

Philly - if you can get the height down to about 12 or 13 inches the cost will decrease by about half. Its the cutoff for the next tier of pricing with Fedex. I have shipped MANY gas boats, and I was able to ship my Y6 for about $85 - $100. I used a sport box (U-haul) that is 48 X 15 X 15. I pack everything in the boat in bubble wrap or bubble packaging, and then bubble wrap the outside of the boat. Put a layer or two of bubble in the bottom of the box, 2" or so of peanuts, then put the boat in on an angle. Fill in around it. I actually bought two of the boxes, cut the top 3rd off, sliced up about 6 or 12" in the corners and then filled it the same way I just described. Then I slid it over the open end of the other box and taped them together. Tape well! If you are declaring less than $500 in insurance, they will not require you to open the box to inspect the packaging. The sport boxes are around $8.00, Bubble wrap was like $17, and the peanuts are like $8/bag, and you'll need quite a few. Hope I was able to help.Steve Mitchell
