Pristine Villain IV - highly modified - very, very nice!

This is a project I had going a while back and never got around to doing much with her. This Ultra clean Villain IV has been gone thru with a fine tooth comb!!

The entire driveline has been re-done with 5mm shafts, steel spur gears and it all glides thru Boca Bearings........yep full bearings, even thru the outdrives!! Steel U joints connect the drive shafts to the stub shafts which are also the upgraded versions. They are made for 3/16 props, which this one has twin Octura 447's Left and right rotation!!

This boat is as clean as it looks, it had like 2 runs on it when I got it off ebay from an elderly man. It has a tiny scratch here and there and a bent edge of a sticker etc................20 years old, remember. There are small glue spots where the deck rails were glued on and I was gonna sand em smooth and paint just the white part of the deck, really doesnt look bad at all like it is though.

You have the choice of "Building it" with either the Stock 20t Stinger motors and 7 cell ESC that came with it from the factory for a "stock" look and ride, OR you can have the Big Titan 550's and the EVX ESC for only $25 more. It also comes with the stock factory transmitter and reciever, the gearbox covers and even an original manual!!! You will need a 15 dollar servo.

Is that an EVX-2 with the Titan system? And does this boat have the waterproof radio box? Thanks.

Yep, the EVX(which now has the marine cooling cover on it), twin traxxas titans, one reverse rotation, and no radio box at all really, its an old Villain IV.

BTW, i went ahead and built it with the EVX system and ran it Sunday, goes very well and is pretty quiet I guess due to the full bearings in the entire driveline.

So I prefer to keep it now unless someone just has to have it for the $270 shipped.

Thank you. I have those, I was wondering about the 5mm driveshafts and housings so I can run bearings, and metal spur?

All I can say is this, it was an absolute bear trying to piece it all together myself. I got steel shafts from MSC Industrial in Georgia that sells 'em all in increments of .5mm I believe, the bearings are from precision bearing, they are boca miniature flanged #MF84-ZZ, i spent hours on the computer finding it all. I got the 32 pitch "spur gears" from Tower Hobbies, they are under Castle Creation gears, they are basically huge pinions, there......................saved you hours!!

I bought a set of Boca bearings, supposed to be for Traxxas Villain, but they dont fit the outdrives or the driveshaft tubes. So I am wondering about that, you must have aftermarket tubes too? And outdrives? And how about the u-joints? who makes them? Thanks for the info, very helpful.
