some guys have been asking me what detongue means so I made this little photo its kinda crude but gets the point across. detongue you loose some of the hole shot but gain speed on the top end.

so on my x642 I could possibly get more top end out of my boat?

Yes it can give you more top end I dont know if you can tell with the baked eye or not but some boats seem to like it (my hydro does and the missGieco likes a X642DT.) if your doing ovals you may not want to DT your prop to keep the hole shot out of the turn. I hate to sound like a salesman but the best way to tell is to try both and see what you like best.
