Cheap RTR boat

I need to thin my collection out. The boats a bby oval master 29 hull. The boat is rtr but needs a little tlc to get running. I built this over the winter with stuff I collected. It has a proboat brushless sytem and proboat am radio system. It needs a few screws and some water line to get going, I had it in the water to made sure it workked, I just robbed the stuff off for other projects,

Cheap RTR boat

Cheap RTRs usually have two big failings - total lack of fine control, and range.
They tend to click and bang control for both speed and steering, which makes them unsuitable for pushing up behind an object, This can be overcome by towing a line out, circling the object, then pulling both in by hand.
The range problem can only be overcome by fitting a "proper" radio, which will usually involve replacing the rest of the electronics. This cost plus the work would make self building something like a springer a much more attractive proposition. Being able to guarantee that the plane will only ever need retrieving within a given small number of yards is probably not an option.

Not wanting to be a thread hog but I agree, what is this guy on about !!

I think he thinks its a retrieval boat the Springer hes referring to is a tug allot of the guys on model boat mayhem build so its apples and oranges. I think he also thinks its a stock rtr boat which it isnt. The boats worth it almost just for the hardware alone
