These are just a little too large for the 1717, I bought them back when the coolers weren't available and that's what I was going to use them for. I do have an extra 1717 cooler if you want it instead, I'll sell to you for $32 shipped which is what I paid for it.

i remember reading about the madam x hull in RC BOAT MODELLER MAGAZINE ABOUT 15 years ago it seems..it was reaching ridiculous speeds back then..funny to see this again

Yeah, it really turned into a fast runner with the 1717. Here's some info on it and a short video from a few months ago. I really don't want to get rid of it, but it's this or a 29" sprint cat which I LOVE.
