LF: KOS P1 Hull only... dreaming?

Thanks to Stevens addition of the album photos, I have been bitten by the P1 even harder to the point of wanting to build me up one. Gots me a motor and lots o hardware, so why not?

Anybody know of any P1 hulls out there? can be used or un-drilled, only want the hull so hardware/electronics not important.

    tankuverimuch

For that matter, any 36" ish scale looking P1 mono would be a candidate. (Dang Castle and their discounted motors forced me to dream up [yet] another build!). Especially an MHZ Lizard Xtreme or maybe even a Dragon Lady.

Be cautious about throwing too much motor or prop in a p-1 hull. The narrow hull has quite a bit of torque roll from even the stock outrunner. I'm still trying to iron mine out!

Ya, I know what you mean, both my little cigarettes are subject to that very thing. So, to counter that, I go inrunner, higher volts and smaller prop. I know that outrunners produce serious problems for torque roll - hopefully inrunners might be a little less problematic.

G Freak has a p1 hull. In all seriousness, It looks better than the Venom version.

Actually they are $300 for hull/hardware. And they are pretty good looking - are they a little wider than the Venom? Whew, that's even more than a super quality MHZ or Aeromarine hull.

Somebody's gotta have one laying around gathering dust - you know its time to sell if it has too much dust on it.

thanks, Ron! great tip on a [potentially] killer ebay deal (to be kept secret until I win the bid!!!).

keep the ideas coming! I would really like quality and it must be scale, the DFs don't do it visually for me.

                    Fountain

                    Jesse,
I have the P1and I love it! It is the only realistic model fountain with a stepped hull that I can find. The MHZ dragon lady is close but has no steps. Bonzi has one but its huge.
G-Freaks versions dimensions are not correct. Too tall, wide and no signature Fountain beak nose.
I cant find a bare hull of this Venom version or even get a replacement hull yet.
It runs 45 mph on radar with the stock electrics on 4S with X442. Ive been touching up the stress cracks with gelcoat paist.
I think I am going to try that Nue motor I bought from you and my seaking 180.
Keep me posted with what you come up with and I will continue searching.

West, thanks yes I have seen that and the red print "late oct"...

Jed, I keep coming back to the venom P1, the GF one does look a little wider than it should and is just too much $$ for not enough. there's just something about multiple steps ooooooh ya, loookin good.

I think the g-freak hull looks like crap. The finish looks wavy and blotchy, and the lines and edges look less than true. I hate to sound "pro-venom" but the finish on their hulls is fantastic.

Jesse, I hope you get the venom. Its very realistic, Almost exact to real KOS P1. Who needs good customer service when you put your own stuff in it anyway.
Plus with your knowlage and craftsmanship we will all benifit from this project.
