I was going to post the same thing as Mark F, but that has been answered....
Lipo Power, is it possible that the straps are deforming the motor casing causing the rotor to make contact with the windings, just throwing some thing out for a suggestion.
Have you tried a different motor mount?
Not very likely my friend , It is virtually impossible for that aluminium strap to deform a stacked steel stator , the screw to tighten the strap would have broken long before that would ever happen . out of 500 built you are going to run into at least one turd...........
The mount straps are not doing any deformation to the motor. This is a very good motor mount and the ends of it are only grabing the outside rings of the motor. Also, this mount was used before with no issue.

ok cool it was just a thought. I don't use that type of mounts so it was a suggestion. working in the heavy industry I do for many years. and seeing things happen that shouldn't happen. then having to repair all that, it caught my eye.
Maybe this sort of arm chair debating should be moved to another forum. This seems hardly the place for a debate about the Neu "trend" of bad motors to continue.
Can the moderators lock this thread and let this crap die. A waste of bandwidth.

No harm done , it is always good to entertain all possibilities...........
