    B/S/P props

Gonna make a order for a few raw M445's and X642's. If someone wants a special prop B/S/P and steve has it PM me, I can order it and finish it for you. Order will be made tonight (wednesday) or tomarrow during the day.

I am gonna try a Octura X645 on my SV, my guess it will be a beast. If your set up with better cooling and have your boat dialed in and want to try one, PM and I will get one for you also and finish it for you.

Normal size Octura like a M445 or X642 or something like that is $30 with 3 bucks shipping to US and 5 shipping to Canada. If the special prop request cost more to buy or is harder to finish like a SS prop or something its gonna be a little more, to be figured out in a PM.

so how does the hole prop size work im gessing that a 442 is smaller than a 642, the higher the number the bigger or what,,,

For Octura props the letter X is a style designator, The first number is a pitch designator, and the last 2 are the diameter in mm. The X4xx has a pitch ratio of 1.4 and the X6xx has a pitch ratio of 1.6.

It does get confusing...I am not the guy to ask but yes the first number would be the type.. kinda the amount of lift or design of the prop. Then like eng said the pitch then the diamiter which makes the total pitch. How I always thought of it even with real boats was the total pitch was the amount the prop would move with a revolution. Not sure if this is 100% correct but either way the higher the total pitch, the more the prop will move given the same rpm. if you know what I mean. a X442 has the same diamiter so here is the figure (right off steves prop page) 1.4x1.65=2.310" then here is the X642 1.6x1.65=2.640" so given the same rpm the 642 in a perfect world is gonna go farther there for makeing the boat move farther or faster.. as long as the motor can handle it. but there is so many factors, like to much load with drain the bats to much or heat things to much, slip, etc etc. A lot of people ask what prop should I use, I wont give a answer except for a SV because the only one I really tryed many props on was that.. I tryed 10 differnt props and I posted the thread someplace on OSE, some drained the battery with out giving more speed or handling, some hopped in the corner, some were ok and some not very good. For me I liked the X642, M445, the stock prop/with lipos, and a prop I got with a order from china which I cant even tell you what it is, then the K45. The rest could find better uses on differnt boats, not saying there not good just not good on the SV, and I am sure there are more good prop choices for a SV which I have not tryed. So its a trial and error game till you find what you like, sometimes someone can tip you off to a good prop but remember... there's a lot of snakes in the grass..heheh so sometimes your own research is best...
