Guys I have had a request to post up pictures of the motor mounts so here you go. What you get is a set of raw mounts and ESC tray you will have to drill your own holes and provide nuts, bolts, washers. These are for 4" rails and it is your choice between the 540 mount and the Neu 1527, 21. If there is any interest in 3 mounts shown send me a pm and I can get you a price. I have plenty.

    Thanks

I've always wondered: how do you drill those pesky holes w/o cursing like a Biden?

AND, you probably don't have one for a 1524 Neu...

Ok first off I screwed up the Neu mounts they fit 1527,1521. I have not sold any of these for a long time so I had my numbers wrong and other posts have been corrected.

Best way is to use a drill press and vise. The key is to use a center punch to start the hole. Not sure on the 1524 Neu is it the same can as the 1521 and 27 if so they should fit???

        Thanks

Man.... I really want this thing looks awesome... Is there any chance you would install the stuffing tube on the boat along with the stinger drive and rudder.... I think I could finish it from there.... How much for it with that done..if u are willing to do it at all... I would pay u prior to doing as I can tell u are a well trusted member.... Let me know... I may just pull the trigger if you can make it reasonable...I just don't wanna make Swiss cheese out of this thing or mess up any of the alignments....Or mess up the quality work you have already done.. I think I would end up putting a neu motor in with your provided esc plate and mount....

I guess I'd like to fit it with a neu that would be VERY fast and would work well on 4s2p... As I bought (10) 2s 30c 5000mah polyquests from mike martin and I don't really have a home for them....Also just got some 4s 4800mah 20-30c zippy-r packs from crazyfast... They all need something to do... My other good packs I'm saving for my cat....

I know I stayed up late drooling over it last night.... looked at a ton of df33 youtube vids... I want it.... I just am worried it will sit if I cant get some of the hardware installed by someone else as I don't want my first "hack" job to be on a real df hull......

its really not hard at all....the mono boat with stinger drive is the easiest of all the boats to set up the stuffing tube and motor mount

the key thing is having the right tools like drill bits and a cordless drill..you can get a very cheap dremel setup from harbor freight

a good set of allen wrenches

if you decide you want to attempt it you can call me on the phone and I will explain the steps

go for it man..you will be proud as punch when its zipping around the lake

remember mono with stinger is the easiest install

I agree with bustit, you really cant go wrong. If you blow it, just re-seal her up with good epoxy and start over, no harm done. Once you get all the holes where you want paint the transom and wallah!

                    Somebody buy this!!!!!

As for the motor mount, the 1524 is the same 4" can as the 1527, so I'd be interested in a mount, how much?

How do you get your drill press inside the hull? I see the point of using the set screws to mark the spot on the rails, but getting something in there that penetrates the rail at a 90deg angle??? I eventually just put the mount where I wanted itt and screwed the mounting screws outward from the inside and forced them through the rail... sloppy but exactly where I wanted. Then used my hobby knife to trim off the protruding wood.... not elegant, but nobody will ever know!

Buy a 90 deg offset attachment for your 3/8" drill. $10 from harbor frieght. Worth a lot more if who are going to continue building. Your package went out yesterday afternoon. I will PM you the tracking number.

Sorry I did not understand your first question. I take the tip out of a fine tip felt sharpie and mark the holes on th rail. You just need something short to go through the mount. Now get u a 90% head for your dremel (lowes $29) and buy a roto zip bit to make the hole you may have to shorten up the bit to get between the rails.

                          Thanks
