***WTB BRUSHLESS FE HYDROPLANE or CATAMARAN RTR IN EC***

Hi all, I am interested in a Brushless Hydroplane preferably already set up with a decent motor and a decent speedie like the Castle Hydra 120amp.

The boat must have all required running gear as stated to be either a RTR or very close to and has not had any repairs. Willing to pay the right $$$ for the right boat.

As a newcomer to the RC Boat scene I am also open to other suggestions on different types of hulls and brushless running gear. I would even consider a FE Catamaran like the Mean Machine.

The boat im loking for ideally has the same shape as the one below and is currenly running between 40-50mph or faster.

You will need to ship it to Australia which shipping costs can vary from US$60-$90 which im prepared to pay for the right boat. Please PM me or reply here on this thread with pics of what you have to offer.

Thanks in advance and any info would be greatly appreciated in helping me build or find the boat im looking/hoping for.

Welcome to OSE. Love your portfolio. Have you looked at this boat?
She will still need a power plant though.

If you go the Cat route, I have a yellow and white Skunk Cat that is mint with Nemesis Blue 10XL, Castle 120 esc, speedmaster hardware etc. It has not been in the water since its professional rebuild, so not sure exact speeds, but would certainly expect to be in your range. Motor and esc have less than 5 minutes on them. Price would be $475 plus shipping. Let me know if you want more details/picture. Cheers

...thanks Diego, this is what im taking about. I came across this boat today on the ProBoat website. The Elam would be ideal. The price is a little high though compared to whats out there. I will however contact him and see if we can work something out.

...cheers Daggers. Might sound like a silly question but what type of lipos are best suited for that type of set up? Either 9xl or 10xl to get the best performance. Trying to make sence of the lipo situation runing either single or dual lipos, number of cells and mah.

Exotica, welcome aboard. You will probably need to have $700 set aside for what you are describing, to get set up with everything (it sounds like you are starting from scratch). You are looking for something that has been set up by a modeler and not just a RTR. These will cost you at least a couple hundred more just for the parts and/or time to make it solid and reliable. then add shipping, lipos and charger...

If I were to sell one of mine that fit your description, I would have to add up the components and donate my time setting up and tuning it. Keep in mind that there are no RTRs that run Castle Hydra ESCs, so add that to the mix and you are looking at some bucks to get on the water. Also, don't rule out repairs, sometimes they make the boat better.

That said, looks like you have a couple offers here that could fit your bill. From what I have read about the AQ UL1, that would be a good set up if you could get one that someone has spent the time to prep (usually takes time to get them reliable and running right). For example, my Elam prep took about a week, granted I gutted it and started over, CFing the hull and adding all my own hardware, but she is pushing 60 and is stable and reliable. For an idea, I probably have over $400 in her before batteries/charger.

                              Good luck with your search,
