Well, $319.00 plus tax just seems steep for such a small boat. If there was a setup that did not include the servo, and the ESC and the motor or maybe the ESC and the Servo, or a variation the price would be lower and more affordable for people that already have these. Maybe include the motor as it's tuned to boat but the ESC and servo can be purchased separately would be a nice option as people may have their own or may want to use their own, just a though.
Plus considering I found one on e-bay for $190.00 puts a damper on the $310.00 price.
Well I could not find anything as small for the same price and speed and quality, so I purchased the Starship from MiniCat. So I'm done searching for a rigger. By the way, Jim is a super nice guy, we spoke for hours.
WELL! I got my Starship and I'm contemplating on the quality for the price. Not what I expected. Painting not 100 perfect but I guess for the price nothing is? No hull cracks or anything so that is good. The servo angle to the rudder is not really straight (should be angled) as it's rubbing the body, and best one is the motor mount is broken off the hull on arrival.
Now I have to see if I should return this or try to repair.
Don't feel bad, mine also arrived with an uneven finish and broken motor mount, easy fix..... Got mine for $215 shipped off an ebay vendor. Hong Kong to Ca. in 7 days.
We would appreciate knowing your problems and discontent before you publicly post them. We can't provide you with customer service if we don't know about them. Number one, it is not paint, it is gelcoat. There is always a seam showing on a gelcoat boat. Number two, you can easily repair the motor mount with some epoxy. That is a shipping problem.
Regarding the ones from Hong Kong, the factory is trying to find out who they are. It is illegal for them to ship boats to the U.S. They are obliterating the serial numbers in the boats before they ship them. If anyone gets one that has a serial number in it we would appreciate knowing about it. Thanks.

I'm extremely detail oriented, and whatever it is, even though it's structurally fine, I just expected better quality finish for the cost.
Secondly can you prove it's a shipping problem? That's an amazing answer with no evidence. It's amazing that the whole motor mount is completely free of the hull and nothing with the shipping has or shows even the slightest evidence that the box, nor any wrapping nor the top of the hatch was even scratched or dented to make the motor mount come off or even break off. It would have to be a great amount of force to remove this and nothing shows that not even a hint.
I apologize for being brutally honest and open but I share my experience and knowledge here as others do. Others may learn from this and I do not mean to attack anyone, but honesty is the best policy.
If the box is slammed sharply, it can jar it enough to break the motor mount and nothing else. This has happened one other time. The answer is for us to put packing under the motor because it is cantilevered in the mount. We missed that on yours. Our fault.
Nothing wrong with being brutally honest but it is common courtesy to let us address the problems before you broadcast it to the world.
We would prefer that you return the boat if you don't like it. We will happily refund your purchase.

My carbon fiber version has seams. Even fancy German hulls such as those from Hydro and Marine have seams. Just an observation. In fact, I'm having trouble coming up with a fiberglass or carbon hull that I own that doesn't have seams.
Man Taylor, I wish I had some money laying around to pick up that one you offered.
Once again, service and support. Can you imagine returning a hull to an ebay vendor. For that matter, can you imagine getting them to even respond to you?
