    What is your budget?
What length are you looking for?
What system or components do you already have or planning to purchase to go in this rigger?
Do you have a speed you are trying to achieve? This can also designate size.
Are you looking to go racing or just to have fun at the pond?
Are you looking for all out speed (straight away) or do you want an oval setup?

These are general questions that will help guide responses received.

I'm interested in one also, something that is like the Mini Cat Starship, but not as pricy.

What is your budget? = Not over $250.00
What length are you looking for? = Not over 27"
What system or components do you already have or planning to purchase to go in this rigger? = Have all the electronics already, none needed.
Do you have a speed you are trying to achieve? This can also designate size. = 50-60MPH
Are you looking to go racing or just to have fun at the pond? =Pond
Are you looking for all out speed (straight away) or do you want an oval setup? = Straight away.

      Thank you!

when you consider the starship already has the motor, esc, hardware, and is essentially ready to run except radio and battery....how do you figure it's pricey?

Well, $319.00 plus tax just seems steep for such a small boat. If there was a setup that did not include the servo, and the ESC and the motor or maybe the ESC and the Servo, or a variation the price would be lower and more affordable for people that already have these. Maybe include the motor as it's tuned to boat but the ESC and servo can be purchased separately would be a nice option as people may have their own or may want to use their own, just a though.

Plus considering I found one on e-bay for $190.00 puts a damper on the $310.00 price.

6s Hydro has already addressed this, but these are not for sale in North America. Now consider that, if you purchase from Minicat racing, they provide support and will actually answer the phone if you have an issue and need help. I doubt you'd be able to get that from any Ebay seller.

The biggest factor I look at is, even though you may have a servo and ESC available to put in the Starship, consider that the complete package you would purchase is a proven design and setup. You'll have no issues with center of gravity and so forth. That's my 10 cents. Do you want to spend 10-15 trips to the pond to try to setup the boat that may never run as well as with the stock setup? That's your choice.

                    Gio1966,

Eyecandy is offering you a great deal. He has put a lot of time and energy into the rigger he's offering and you have to appreciate, you'd be purchasing from someone a boat that was made for himself. You can't beat that. If you are considering purchasing it, don't have any reservations. I'm not trying to push the sale here, please understand that. I'm merely trying to help you realize the value he has offered you.

On a side note, I like the extra ride pads Eyecandy. Any chance you could give us a picture of those from underneath to satisfy my own curiosity?

The graupner rig is a saws hull. G, needs a oval hull and I think the bb raptor is a winner!
