    Futaba 3pm - 2.4G transmitter - cheap

this is a used futaba 3pm 2.4g transmitter. it works good but has a problem with the steering wheel. when pushed in it works fine but you have be carefull not to pull it outwards or the wheel slips. it seems like the wheel is not all the way on the splined shaft. i think it just needs to be taken apart and tightened up or at worst needs a new wheel or gear. i used it like this for a long time with no problems. i am only selling it because i have a 3pk and need more than 10 model memory. comes with nicad battery. $5 i will include a charger.

$35 includes USPS priority to mainland US

Sorry Chuck, even though it has been a while since the sale I did receive the unit in the condition stated in good time, I just forgot to post a reply being to busy stripping it down and fixing it, and I only just noticed whilst looking back through my old post list.

Both the pot and the wheel were fine although the ballrace in the wheel had siezed making it a little graunchy as the shaft turned within the race, I replaced it with a teflon bushing made from the same rod I use to make thrust washers, The problem was the a portion of double thickness case was broken at the wheel hub allowing the wheel's shaft to disengage from the pot in some positions, I ground the remaining double thickness part down to single thickness then added a large carbon fibre washer which was a bit of a pain as you have to compleately strip and reassemble the radio each time you sand a bit off the washer and I must have tried half a dozen times and 2 different washers before I got 1 the right thickness for free movement with no slop and glued it in, but for one afternoon and most of an evenings work and no extra financial outlay, it is now probably better and stronger than it was when it came out of the factory.
              Thanks Chuck.
