You and me both. In the A Main final at this track, the front runners are national level racers.Originally posted by longballlumber View PostHa Ha... I could only dream to drive that smooth! I couldn't do that even with a slot car! ha ha

Nice buggy, Rick. I love the look of those Shumacher staggers on the front.
Back in the day, Larry's was mostly carpet, and foams were the ticket. Some were running as high as 60wt oil front and rear with real firm set-ups (quick response). The jumps were built so you could live with a firm set-up (i.e. angled landing pads, etc...). There were also some tracks with cross-over jumps at different heights. Buggies flying every direction! Needless to say, it was very cool. The guy that used to make those tracks is long gone, unfortunately.
With the current track, most people are running clay set-ups with 30wt oils and let the cars roll thru the corners.

Just had a chance to watch Rick's vid. Wow. That's a nice track! Nice driving too!
Here is the crossover jump track I was talking about... Not pretty by any stretch, but the tracks were a blast to drive. Mike used to change them up every two weeks or so. Always something different.
Have you guys seen this video?? It was the 1/12 European mods. I can't help laugh at this announcer guy.

I'm surprised as well. The money put into these buggies would make you cringe when it happens. I was hit head on at speed by a 1/8 scale 4x4 who lost control after a jump and was going the wrong way on the track. I'm sure you could see smoke coming from my ears during the 4hrs it took me to replace all the broken parts.Originally posted by T.S.Davis View PostPete, was that the Mound store? It's like watching a Hotwheels track. You can't believe what you're seeing but it's working. You would think there would be more mid air crashes.
