We are a NAMBA affiliated club (North American Model Boat Assoc) Namba.com which offers a set of rules and regulations, explains each class and most importantly provides each member a liability insurance. To be an official wfmbc member, we require our membership dues plus the namba certificates which one aquires through namba. Non-members of either are asked to pay a $10.00 "splash fee" per day, that they run.
Hope to see you folks out there. We have an outstanding club with new members monthly. We are a very friendly bunch and do not mind answering questions, helping set up boats, giving tips etc to help your boat run as competitive as it can. I dont think any of us have any "big secrets" We let everyone know

I was doing something dangerous today (thinking) and had a thought.
Since we're getting back into spring, I think it would be a good idea to go and broadcast treat the parking lot at the lake for fire ants.
If it's ok I can go and pick up dome stuff and maybe get it done this weekend. And, the club can pay me back for the ant killer.
Since we're not running this weekend planning on going down to SRQ and fly some on Sunday (unless it's a crosswind kind of day). It would be pretty easy for me stop by the lake and do it on my way back home.

Now THIS takes some skill. Makes us USA boat racers look like slackers!

Sounds like a good idea to me.Originally posted by tiqueman View PostLets discuss a possible work day at the next meet.
I did make it by the lake Sunday and distributed 11 pounds of fire any killer. It didn't really go as far as I thought it would. Basically treated from about the concrete slab on the east side down to the last palm tree toward the west end. This was on the lake side of the gravel road only. If you want I'll pick up another bag Saturday and bring it down Sunday since we're running (weather permitting).
Looks like the rain must have spawned some algae growth too. There were clumps of fresh green goo all along the shoreline.
I meant to get back in here sooner and mention there was an older gentleman that pulled in while I was there. He's go a big paddle wheeler he's wanting to part company with. If anyone is interested in a big (filled the back seat of his car) scale "Creole Queen" I suggested he bring it back this Sunday.

Right now it's looking like we have a 50/50 chance for this Sunday. Wind doesn't look too bad early morning but around 2:00 PM it's supposed to kick up pretty good out of the south.

Just checked the wind report again. Now it's showing around 14 mph from the SE at 11:00 AM. Early morning still looks pretty good though. Are we going to try it?

I say we call it tomorow mid day. Looking like its going to be blowin? Lets see how long this front stays stalled

Not much difference in the report so far other than a wind speed increase as the day goes on. http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/laun...=KSRQ&state=FL
Around 6 from the east at 8:00 AM, 14 from the SE at 11:00 AM, 19 from the SSE at 2:00 PM and peaking out around 20 from the South at 5:00 PM
Shame we aren't running today instead.
