allright!!!! made it down last night dispite the pouring down rain for a 100 miles and a wreck near gainsville that killed 3 people......got the lsh and p sport hydro ready to go ...dint have room for any more boats....hope the weather and all works out for sunday....

I saw two people running boats on this pond.
The pond is on the West side of 301 across the road from this address.

Hopefully it will work out Ron. I don't know yet what the winds will be like but local weather is calling for it to back in the 80's for the weekend.
On a different note, having all the P mono's there last time around got me ambitious enough to finally patch the holes in my old DF-33 so it's water tight and useable again.

I drove by that pond last month. Even drew out a course on it. I wonder how we find out about it, it's in an industrial park.

I think the best thing is to go there, check it out and start talking to businesses on it if it seems like it'll be a good spot. Thoughts?

I don't want to get anybodies hopes up but I've contacted a person about a old shell pit that I'm guessing is about 10 acres or so. I'm waiting to hear back from him. https://www.google.com/maps/preview#...!2m1!1e3&fid=7 It's near the corner of SR 70 and 45th St E.

For the most part we're just trying to find a better alternative to Ackerman. Someplace that doesn't turn to whitecaps every time the wind blows and someplace where we might actually be able to host an event. The county has pretty much squashed us ever holding a real race at Ackerman with fees so steep we couldn't hope to pay them.

I like the looks of the pond in the industrial park. If that is a full 1/6 mile course Ray drew on the sat photo it's a decent sized lake. And, access to it looks a lot easier as well. Lotsa parking at that one.

I drive by that pond on 301 daily, it can get a bit bumpy when the wind is blowing, especially from the south/southeast. I'll drive in there one day before the weekend and snoop around.
