I'll have to look in the rule book, but for Twin Offshore I think you can run either and the hull has to resemble a real Offshore boat either Cat or Mono hull.

There is both a P and a Q Offshore class that NAMBA recognizes. It's not uncommon for them to run combined at sanctioned events (depending on turnout) same as the S & T classes often run combined. There is no official "twin" class but there's nothing to stop you from running a twin in competition providing it does not exceed the 10,000 MA total battery capacity or cell count.
I built mine with plans for a Q offshore boat since the hull actually measures 34.2" and makes it illegal for sanctioned P classes unless you do some grinding to the sponson tips to shorten it. Although the Cheetah handles pretty good it's still no match for the larger boats in heavy chop and race water conditions. Q limits you to 40" max hull length and hulls like the Sprintcat, Team Believer or Avenger are a better choice.
The P twin class was pretty much just a club thing we started along with the STD (stock twin drive) boats.

I'm more interested in messing around with the club. If most of the guys are running 4s I would rather do that then go to 6s and have less competition. If I do travel to a race somewhere I will deal with it then.

Today's 1st round of the Limited Spec Offshore class. Scott pulled off a come from behind win... right after the only other boat still running quit 15 seconds before the timer ran out. LOL

Round 1 of P mono. Dave picked up the camera and shot this one since I was busy holding down last place. He did a good job after he got it zoomed back out. (guess I must have left it zoomed in when I laid it down).
I'm pretty sure this heat was Brian's. Had to be him or Rich one since they were both running yellow DF's and one of them went upside down.

This Q Offshore heat was all Brian's too. I think my Avenger might would have hung with him if it hadn't started toasting the motor around lap 2. I though maybe the batteries were sagging and in hindsight, should have brought in but didn't. I was going to finish the heat. (I thought)

Nice come from behind Bill. What is your setup? I run a DF33 but, want to try a Pursuit hull. I've run a 1521 1.5D Neu and a 4092-2200kv Fighter Cat. Going back to the NEU.

I'm using a Neu 1521/1Y that was originally in my old Genesis. It's really a 6s motor but can spin the X646/3 that's on it for around 10 laps without getting anything hot. Not real fast but it's pretty reliable.
