Thats about as good as a stop watch
Yep, and certainly better than paper blowin around, and would keep track of all the classes and heats.

Jim, we might suggest to her that the materials and labor for the stairs can be donated if thats possible. If we can come up with the rail ties, we can put them in ourselves.

I was thinking of getting a few patio tiles and setting them in place. They are about 20x20 and 3 should be sufficient for what we need. I can go by Home Depot and grab a few if someone wants to bring a shovel so we can cut out the bank to fit them.

I think a few good rains and they may wash out.

I suppose that could be a possibility but with enough rain, railroad ties could do the same. And there's a lot more digging involved for laying in cross ties. I'll still spring for 3 of the patio blocks if we can get some volunteers with a shovel.

I've been prepping boats for Sunday and hve the OPC fitted with a 42x55. (there's not enough room for a m445 Ron). Got the UL-1 ready along with the Miller. If Ray comes that would gove us a 3 boat heat for 1/8 scale. Got the 47" mono ready to go as well. I know that there's nobody else in our group with one running (yet) but I want to test the motor transplant in it. P is ready too if we have enough boats for a class. So far we have Jim, Hugh and myself listing some boats ro run. Who all else is coming and what do we want to run?

Right now I'm holding off on charging packs until Saturday to see what the weather for Sunday is supposed to be. I hate pulling them back down with the charger.

Are you proposing to have every possible class we would run on that separate CD? Would we always run the same order ever time? We would need another CD player. How will you run the start countdown CD and that one at the same time. Maybe I'm not following you but it sounds like more trouble than it's worth. A simple heat schedule posted on here before our run dates would work good. Each person running could just print out their own schedule. I could print a couple of extras as you and anybody else that wants to could in case a visitor shows up and wants to run with us.

                Something Like:

                10:00 A.M. - LSH
                10:15 A.M. - S/T Mono
                10:30 A.M. - OPC
                10:45 A.M. - P Mono
                11:00 A.M. - 1/8 Scale
                etc.
                etc.

We tried 15 min. between heats one time and it really isn't very reasonable. More like 20 would be better. If we're killin ourselves it ain't gonna be fun anymore! ;-)

We need to split up the spec classes with BIG monos, 1/8 scale, 10th scale, etc. That way, most of you guys will have plenty of time between heats. You and Brian come up with something. We'll all discuss it. I appreciate you guys help but let's try to keep it simple! If everybody prints out their own copy of the schedule we won't need to print anything to take along. You guys could do the schedule as a .pdf and post it here. Could possible be that we'd keep the same schedule all season! That would make it really easy in my opinion.

Jim, per your request, I made a new audio cd that splits the pit time from the mil time, so we can advance to "track 2" now to save time. I need to pick up and audio cord that goes from a 1/4" mic to either another 1/4" mic plug or RCA plugs. Unless someone has one, let me know and I will get one before the weekend. Even w/ out it, it will only allow us to speak into a mic as well as have the audio from the CD playing so it is NOT necessary for the upcoming meet. We can still hear the audio CD and at worst case, we run one speaker to the PA and one to the CD player.

Brian and I were also talking after the last meet, between him and I, we are going to create a CD that we can follow to keep us organized and refrain from the constant "what are we running next?" We are hoping to create a CD that names classes/ heats and has count downs that allow us to run every 15 minutes. Hopefully this will help us to keep things on schedule and help as a training aid in other events we attend.

Now, are there CDs already created for this purpose? We figured we would include all the classses we run and the ones we used to run, ie Q offshore, and its always easy to add a class if we begin to run another. Our thoughts were it could just be a CD that we hit "PLAY" at 10:00am and it runs until we are done, only having to hit "next" or pause when need be.
The other option would be a general multi track CD that only has 15 min of audio on it and we keep re-starting it. We then would have a run sheet similar to what they had at the Nats to keep us in line. Either way, the sheet may be good to see whos running what and if we need to split a clas in to two heats. P-mono comes to mind. I kinda lean toward the "hit play and walk away" idea myself and create a run sheet to follow it.

I'm curious, how many different classes are represented by our club?

                  I have:
                  10th Scale Modern
                  10th Scale Vintage
                  LSH
                  LSO
                  Q Offshore
                  P Mono
                  OPC
                  Working on spec rigger
                  working on 1/8 scale
                  I think I'm forgetting something.

Now that the dust has settled, we need to get back to discussing racing in the WCRA series. 4 FE classes.
Proposed classes ( because they should have the most entries )

                      LSH
                      OPC
                      Spec Rigger
                      P mono

How many of you would run in the series? They rotate the races between 3 clubs, Brandon, Gulfcoast, Tampa. I believe there are 5 races a year. Next in in Sept. I think.

This will expose FE to a large group of nitro/gas guys. They are starting to come around. Let's show 'em our stuff! Remember, we won't be running with the nitro/gas boats. We will be in our own FE classes.
