Is it a 1p or 2p setup? With that much kv on 6s I'd say drop to a 640 or 442 if it's only 1p.

You will need to go smaller in diameter Rich. I run a X640 on my genesis with a 1577kv Neu 1521 on a pair of 3s packs in series. If I go to a X642 it overheats the packs and will puff them over time.
Running 2p (6s x 2 in parallel) you can get away with swinging a bigger prop as long as it doesn't overheat the esc or motor.

Rich,
Check the volts. If it is 22+ then you are running 6S 1P. If that is the case you are puffing packs because you dont have enough mah for a full run. Sounds like for that setup you need to run6s2p. That is two six s packs in parallel. It doubles the mahs. Then try a x447. The 6s2p monos like the 447 and it will be a mild setup for your batteries and esc.Boats don't win races, drivers do.

Bill,
Thanks as always for the vids. Clay really enjoyed seeing his heat. He has never been in to the boats much ( which hasnt been a bad thing for me cuz we spend alot of time with b ball and it gives us both a break ) but his competitive nature prevailed and now he wants to race.....oh well, maybe I'll start collecting dolls or beenie babies or something, so I can have my space.......Boats don't win races, drivers do.

I'll second that one.
Or at least they were when I was younger. Getting to where they are a little harder to find now-a-days though.

I'm not opposed to making a vist to the other coast but not in a super rush to do it either. In all fairness to all the members of our group we shouldn't let it interfere with one of our regular run days either. We all like to play but not everyone is ready to jump into a 4 or 5 day nats race either. Just a thought. Let's not make it hard to find us at Ackerman for new people that are looking for a group to run with.
We could set up a 1/8 course for practice on the smaller pond at Ackerman I would think. All we would need is 3 more markers to set up 110 feet inside the existing markers on 1 end if I'm reading the book right for course measurements.

We certainly won't let this interfere with our regular meets either. I would like to make a couple of trips over before the nats. I understand what you are saying about setting up the shorter course Bill, but you will find that the boats will need to be set up a little bit different. I have found that my boats need slight tweaks from pond to pond sometimes. The main reason for running over there with the Waveblasters is we can get a better idea for where our boats are competition wise to some other good boats.
