I posted this video in my build thread but I think it deserves its own thread. I was out Saturday at the lake chasing numbers and some sort of weird upset happened. Not quite sure what it was. The esc has been doing some wonky things and maybe it locked up or surged or something. I don't know. Maybe something else. Funny thing about it tho, the esc does not work anymore. I suffered just minor damage other than the esc biting the dust. No smoke tho. Just didn't work when I got it back to land. The hatch broke, rudder bent, rudder extension bent and the motor mount broke and partially detach on one side. It's definitely the hardest hit I've seen. I've been 98 with this boat last weekend a couple times. The gps read 98 once again when I got it back. Check this hard hit out!
Now this is a bad crash!

I doesn't appear that I did. No damage to prop or rudder, drive tube or bottom of boat. I guess it's still possible but does seem like I did. I'm still scratching my head.Originally posted by Doby View PostDid you hit something?32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Could be but no dents in the rudder. I thought it was a pretty bad water crash. Dead stop at 98mph. Yea a lot of people say it's like hitting a brick wall....and it is, but the forces are spread out across all of the boat that's contacting the water. Hit a tree or something and the contact area is much more concentrated. At least water gives a littleOriginally posted by raptor347 View PostAll it takes is running the rudder through the back of a fish. It wasn't that bad a hit, you got the boat back and there were no trees involved.

I feel your pain Jay. Were you there when I got the same tree at ~114? Then there's the turtle hit at 104. And the occasional fish, spawning bass in the spring!!!
I love SAWs!!!

Very possible but....I've only been pulling about 180 amps and I cut the shrink off and there was no burnt damage. I will tell you that this same esc has ran on 6s running 2900kv motors on more than one occasion pulling over 500amps. Not on purpose. Neu sent me the wrong motors. Twice. Lol. It was fast tho!Originally posted by B Neal View PostESC blew up. Motor slowed to fast causing propeller to blow the tail and tried to stuff the nose

Man I know. I did reinforce the crap out of this hull plus it's half way decent out the box (compared to other cheap hulls). I'm very lucky because it was a very hard hit. I never had a motor mount come loose let alone break like this on did. To break the motor mount, that's got to be some serious stopping force all at once. Now I'm nervous again to run it. I did go out the next day with my 32" cat and click off some 98mph passes and didn't care (I was aggravated) what happened.Originally posted by dasboata View Postif ,you look at the water tracks it left the water, then hit the rear of the boat and came down nose 1st (stuffed it) that usually does some damage your lucky it did not damage the boat !32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was
