That was a good running Titan Doug ! I have a long way but I am getting closer. I know my hull can use some sanding at the keel to make it more straight.Originally posted by Doug Smock View Post"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... Yes . I can't get the positive on the strut I need that's when I went to the plate. I think there is a benefit though.Originally posted by Luck as a Constant View Posthave you tried running it without the plate?"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... Don't sand anything. Remove the plate and try it.Originally posted by rearwheelin View PostThat was a good running Titan Doug ! I have a long way but I am getting closer. I know my hull can use some sanding at the keel to make it more straight.
The Titan is one of the easiest boats to set up

I don't have the long stinger strut to keep the nose down."Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction."

you don't need one. you just need to lose the plate for starters. There's a hole at the center of earth where the rest of the world sinks but i stand still...

also you can turn your strut around and gain some length there. also it would be more like a stinger that way, but it isn't necessaryThere's a hole at the center of earth where the rest of the world sinks but i stand still...

So the vid of a boat running with a kicked back rudder with no trim tabs is the judge all vid lol
Reason I cant flip the strut around is its tapered and what good is that for the thrust washers and the strut I run the brass goes all the way threw it but stops about 4mm from the back to give room for the cuff of the brass bushing that goes in the brass, I would need a different stuffing tube.....
As for the plate the whole idea behind it was to extend the keel back a couple inches to help with higher speeds , the new aluminum version i can actually bend the tips down to work like trim tabs. the plate cannot be too negative or positive as it amplified things a lot. Whats keeping me in the game here is how good the temps have been for the speeds I'm going with it . the plate I believe is actually good for the electrics . Its not very fast out of the hole but stays moving very well. Conventional setups are fine with me to bud, I am actually having fun this go around for a change. No matter what you think about this deal hear I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet when the sky looks so blue from where I am. Thanks for your advice though"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction."

By the way your boat ran very well but it also had many more drag points you were simply pushing past them with your 5s setup. My turn fins only hit the water in the turns . Also the wider weight foot print with your batts being on the sides helps with the rocking some . Even when my boat is rocking hard it will quickly correct itself with a little rudder, I think it's because the weight is centralized it's able to settle in the turns really fast, it's just not settled all the time and that's because I'm trying to go about correcting these issues without the use of deep rudders or trim tabs that can lift the back of the transom in turns some.Originally posted by Luck as a Constant View PostLast edited by rearwheelin; 09-01-2014, 01:06 AM."Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex...
