    crazy fast miss geico

castle 1515 1y 2200kv motor and a octura 42mm prop. I tried 4s but it was too slow. Here's a video. This wasn't full throttle because the one time I tried it, it would just jump out the water and get airborne. Lol

Way too much motor for 6S, you'll toast most sub-250 amp ESCs if you can ever give it full throttle for more than a second. I used that motor to set a SAW cat record near 90 mph a few years ago. It is a decent, fast sport setup for 4S though.

        .

I know. This setup is supposed to be to be for 4s. The batteries I thought were bad. They weren't. Its the esc that's having a problem. Im putting my mamba monster in it and running it on 4s tomorrow. I lost my gps tho when my shockwave flipped at over 50mph. Lol. Broke the top. It was even taped on and came off! The shockwave is stupid fast.

You know your guys should really do the math before upping the voltage. On 6s at 2200kv. You could be turning 45k. Not smart. I'm running that motor in my Geico on 4s with an m445 at over 50mph pulling less than 100 amps. I am running a Turnigy 120 and it doesn't even get warm. Nothing does. If you guys would work you setups and get the most efficiency you can out of the boat you would have more fun. Ok I am off my pedestal now.

Not trying to be an ass, but have you read the above posts? I said I thought the 4s battery setup wad bad. I had my charger cut off a couple times saying connection error. So I thought I had a bad battery. So like I said before, the batteries were swapped out only to see if it was a battery problem. I had no other 2s pair of batteries with me.
I knew the 6s was too much. I stated that. I have no idea why I have to keep saying the same thing?

A 120a with that motor sounds like a mistake from the beginning. I run a 4082 2000kv leopard with a castle hydra 180hv on 4s. And I spin a m545. Still makes me nervous.

Well being that the combo esc and this motor are a matched set and the esc that comes with it is a 120 amp esc, its hard to imagine why. I've run 4s with the 2650kv motor with a 120a esc and it ran fine with no problems.

I run the same 1515 in my Motley, but with a Turnigy 180A. On 4s mine did the same thing, it's the LVC, Most turn it off and time there runs. I upgraded to better and higher Mah/C rates.
I also have over 60 runs on 6s with this combo, 3 minutes is fine, 4 minutes she gets a little warm. Why, many ask. It's what I had...Once I got the aero figured out It ran in the mid 70's . Warning, A RTR boat bites it at 70, its all done....
Motley Crew, Neu-Castle 1515 1Y 2200, 22 Volts, 180A ESC, Custom Motor Mount, .187 drive cable. Aero mod.
Best 74.1 mph, Average 71 mph.

Damn, it's still stupid fast on 5 cell. Looks like 4 cell is the best setup for that rig for you to be able to controll it and have it survive.
                      Nice recovery rig also.

i run the 1515 1y on 5s consistently. the only difference, i have a hull that can handle the power. I'm hitting 60 with m642 and t180.
looks like you need a bigger pond. small ponds make them look fast, bigger lakes make them look slow

Lol. Its not really small. You see it in person you'd agree. Ill measure it next time im out there but if I had to guess I'd say its about 300+ yards long. What hull are you running?

Thanks. The new recovery is even nicer. I posted a thread on it if you haven't seen it.

The boat is pretty fast on 5s. I've hit 40mph on 4s with the stock motor and just a prop and compared to this video at 40mph it looked like it was moving in slow motion lol. On 6s its uncontrollable. Needless to say.
