If you think about it, we can go to 1,000,000 Amps, but only 10S.........................

There will not be a voltage increase anytime soon. The limiting factors are insurance and safety. Just like 60" is the length limit - eventually we would have full-scale R/C models and require full-scale insurance rates. And of course we cannot have 1MM amps, there are physical reasons for that limit in a 60" model.

I was just yanking your chain Carl. We are limited to low amperages by practical matters, mostly due to the ESCs available. But we have ample 'power' today to go as fast as we need to go - the next hurdle is run time.

Hey at least your allowed 10000-12000mah over there (depending on voltage/class), here in Australia we can only get away with 5000-5200mah (our rules are based on a pack weight of 150g per cell). Try getting long run times out of that!

I would love to see Marks hydro run in a gas sport hydro race and see how it fares against them with his present set up.

In the video which didn't record the whole run I ran 7 laps to make a 6 lap race plus a mill lap. I only used 1700 mah out of that 20s pack. This is the purpose of doing this testing.
My motor is a Neu 2230 2.5y 290 KV. In order to get the same rpm as a 2230 1Y I would need to run 24 cells. This motor is a loaner from Neu and is what he had laying around. A 2y would have been better for 20 s.
My speed is I would guess in the high 60s and could break 70s with a different prop. I had a propshop 6517 3 blade in the video. The gas guys are in the high 70s so this setup isn't going to compete against them.
The key to more run time is more voltage if you want to still go as fast as were going now and double your run time. I know namba doesnt allow this many cells but my airplane insurance ( the AMA ) does. They cover airplane, cars, rockets and boats with a 4 million dollar unbrella. So high voltage may never be allowed in Namba you could still run it with different insurance and be covered for sport running. Which is what the majority in this sport does.
Buy the way I do plan to test 24s next.

YEah, I know about AMA insurance as well. I used to fly F3A, so they do cover just about everything.

Seems your going the same direction as most of my projects are designed, I have about 16 of Ben's high voltage esc's to go in my various big cats and mono's, no insurance available or classes here though so sport running only

I like the high voltage idea, but have some questions.
What are your packs configured like? IE 2 single 10s packs in series?
If so where do you get a pack like that?
