The prop is sharpened/balanced and bar-cut. I can't run low timing because the motor is a "y" wind, I can lower it to 10 degrees, but this is my 3rd leopard motor and all have run well at 15 degrees. I have a feeling with the esc now re-calibrated I am sure the amp load dropped.

Very familiar with that setup. They do start to kick with high timing. However, I am sure there is a lot more in it.
There is also another more efficient path to go down which yeilds surprising results.
