This is my new designed and built hydroplane. I built it as a combination P-Sport, all-weather LSH. It is 30" long and 16" wide weighing in at 4 lbs 5 oz (bare hull). The design is different from my other boats in this class in that it has less lift, a longer after-plane and less sponson depth. The sponsons (although not pretty) are designed to have the boat literally jump out of the water upon pulling the trigger. The power plant is a Neu 1521 1.5D motor with a Castle Hydra 240 driven by a Octura M545 propeller.

Not necessarily..... Saying rudder placement is irrelevant, is like saying motor placement in a race car is irrelevant. Handling and style of driving is changed with rudder placement and that can be a big deal in racing or sport.Originally posted by bwells View PostConsidering that you always turn right, is the rudder placement irrelevant? I see yours is on the left of the prop and most I have seen are on the right.
Not to Hijack the thread.
I do like the quality of the paint on this boat and nice to see creative and innovative thought in building.

I own a 07 Camry. My fifth Toyota. I've had every brand if car imaginable. I'll take a Toyota any day for reliability and resale value.Originally posted by JMSCARD View PostSuper Sick in every way... Super Nice Clean Build!!!!

Thanks all for your kind comments. Attached is a video of the boat's first run. Like most 1st runs, there was a problem. This time it was the rudder push rod binding in the transom tube. I had almost no rudder throw at all as you will see in the film. Other than that, Rampage II performed rather well. I never put a GPS in the first outing to avoid having too many disapointments, but it looked to have a fair speed.
I don't recognize the old man in the first few frames.
