We need details like KV of the what kind of motor, Voltage, what batteries in what configuration, what ESC, what prop and what boat and lenth it is, etc.....

The 1527 1D is a motor right off of the devil's workbench.
What voltage??

Ken that is just the way I like my boats, a real handful but very impressive. A steady throttle finger and maybe slow the steering a little for an old guy like me is all that is needed.

Absolutely! A 1527 is a power house. Doubtfull you can put all of the available power into the water with that hull. Still,........ you definately need a bigger pond! That is one twisted driveline.Originally posted by D.Smock View Post

You guys are making me feel great
about my mess up, so on to a bigger Flex cable it is!!! I also think I need a bigger prop as the X447 was not heating anything up but the flex cable. Any suggestions?
I got a big scare when I opened the hatch smoke and steam was pouring out!! But it was from the cable grease and I assume water in the stuffing tube...
The ESC, motor and cells were cold to the touch...

That motor will pull 50mm plus props with the available amps you have, try an ABC S20, or a x450/3. Once you change the flex and stuffing tube out find a pond that is a little bigger and not full of weed. The weed we can see floating will take out your speedy that quick you wont know what hit ya. I love that boat though, over powered ??? Na just about right!!!!

Took a lil time to inspect the twisted metal and found what went wrong. I'm now stuck on using no liner so when I grabbed the bin to start working on the boat I installed a 1/4 brass tube instead of a 7/32 and that gave the .150 flex cable room to move and wad up giving me the end result. Plus I had about 1/4 inch run out on the cable because I knew the motor would draw the cable up tight under power.
Bottom line, I need to keep my spare parts more organized, so I don't install what I think and install what I know!
