    My Apparition on 6s

    Hi all.

This is my 2nd Apparition and have soft spot for them. I know there is better hulls for 6s .

I had a accident and hit the rocks with my first Apparition at our small lake at Boondall so that hull was put away and a new hull was purchased. The plan was to transfer the running gear over from the wreck to the new hull BUT it didn't go to plan and a all new running gear was purchased. The motors were upgraded again 2 Leopards 3400kv motors with counter rotating shafts. New bigger rudder with dual pick ups with custom made rudder mount.. As well as custom made quick release carbon fiber motor mounts mounted very far back in the stern to allow the 3s batteries to sit in the sponsors for better COG.

For electrics i used 2 190/200 H/K esc's with a Hobbywing UBEC. Custom steering linkage set up with a strong servo for the bigger rudder. A big thank you goes to Paul ( 785 Boats) for his advice and custom work on this Apparition it is very much appreciated.

Looks wicked! Have you been able to get a top speed measurement on her?

          No not yet.

Will be running her next meet at Lakeside. It's very quick that's all I can say. Really too quick for my first year of racing. Gee race boats are so much faster then RTR ones.

My 4S Apparition is way quicker then what my 6S RTR Apparition was. Love twin motors in cat and hearing them roar at full noise.

          Cheers

What dimensions are the motors? 28mm diameter or 36mm diameter? Thanks.

Sweet. Any details on your 4s setup? I have a single motor Apparition, and she is bloody quick.

                Hi Ray.

The twin motor 6S is 28mm motors. We say 6S is total battery cells. So that's 3S per side. The motors were mounted close to the stern to allow for the 3S batteries to be mounted low inside the sponsors. Very tight fit though.

The 4S was re built on a tight budget just to give me a boat to run at Lakeside on our other meets as they alternate classes from race day to race day.

It has Dr Mad Thrust EDF motors 2960, 2200kv with 2 Turbojet esc's with bec. It has 2 2s batteries wired up in series to make 4s and battery adapter plugs for the 2 esc's to plug into the battery. Twin 2S batteries were used to keep the weight low. Looks neat & clean and is working very well so far. Paul advised me on this set up of course.

The Hull is made by TFL hobbies. Hobbyking sell mostly TFL stuff.
