A 44' long wood scale boat with cowling, wing set, and running hardware at 5 pounds seems almost unbelievable. 5 pounds is VERY light for a build of this type.

That would be the lightest build ever for a 44 inch long boat.

This. I suspect his "guess" is a bit on the light side. Don't get into a feeding frenzy over this guys, the OP has more to worry about. Let's concentrate on helping him.

With the right motor he can run 8S1P if he limits his run time. 1/8th scale racers in District 7 do it.

OK cool maybe I was a little light on the weight. I thought you were going to tell me it was too heavy. I think I'm going to run a NEU 1527 1.5Y. How would I set up the batteries to get 8s1P or should I go to 10s1P as was suggested above. I don't really understand 8s1p or 10s1p. I know I must look pretty silly but I'm willing to learn.

8S1P simply means your two 4S packs would be connected in series...giving 8S total.

10S1P would simply be two 5S packs connected in series (or a 6S and a 4S)
