updated/version 1 Spartan?

I read that there is an 'updated' spartan - is this regarding the electronics inside or the hull as well?
Im thinking of getting just the hull.

Both actually. The new version has Castle ESC/Motor combo along with a revamped hull. The new hull is much more stable (deeper by 1.5"). The electronics still can't quite handle 6s. Ask me how I know.
