That is sooo Canadian.We have also up here what we call the Polar Bear Swim.It is held at any waterfront city/community on New Years Day and I have 3 or 4 shirts to prove I've done it.The water is usually warmer than the air temps on Jan 1st.

Typhoon Pablo didnt touch Manila - infact, not a single drop of rain all thruout the week.
This happened exactly last year - about the same time too. A storm devastated parts of our country just a few weeks before xmas.

Glad to hear all is well for you guys.Saw the news in the paper and got concerned as it said Manilla (or at least that is where it was written).You guys have been having you're share though.As have we the last couple of years,nothing serious but rain from October to June is not good.

Im not really bothered by the frequency of storms that hit us per year, but more by the number of fatalities it brings everytime each storm passes. In progressive countries, tens is the most - but with us its usually by the hundreds.
With Pablo, its geographical path of destruction are areas common with illegal loggers - which is why there were more deaths to nearby communities.

I guess nature has a way of fighting back!
