I do agree with Jason re scale looking long cat hulls - they're fantastic at straight speed but you have to let go of the hammer when turning. Even before I bought the R-42, I already told myself that I wont go over 44" for a Cat.
Great running gas cat hulls arent exactly scale looking - the legendary RC Boatworks Stryker F-41 cat was developed since the late '70s and you still see a lot of guys use and race those hulls till now.
AC's R-42 belongs to the modern cat designs that may have a bit of "science" in its design compared to the outdated F-41, so performance maybe better as well.
I get you with the desire of running something that looks scale - I want that too .............. however you really have to find out what considerations you really wanted in a cat hull.
