You might do better than that since you wont be using the nitro engine anyway. Althou, that Dumas hull does look good!
I'd definitely look for a hull similar to that and install a proper Zenoah 26 or 29cc gas engine! Oh man, I could see you getting addicted to the dark side! hehehehe!

Nonetheless, how hard would it be to replace the motor in your 36" Shockwave with the T600 anyway?

Does Proboat still sell the 55" Shockwave with gas engine?

Why dont you checkout expresscraft - most of their gas boat hulls are $350 and thats already made out of carbon fiber!
They have lots of open canopy designs similar to that dumas scarab.
A new Zenoah 260cc will just set you back $200 - $230.

Thats cool! You may use a Zen used for car applications - but you might do some mods to it like water cooling for the head. Ask your boss if he can hook you up with a Zenoah PUM (power unit, marine) as that is used for rc boat applications.

But if you decide to try out the dark side, I can hook you up with a Zenoah distributor in the USA as he hangs out in Jim's Dock. I recently ordered a Zenoah 290PUM from him awhile ago for my gas cat along with big bore carburetors.

I went ahead and took off the 2 offset posts on the rudder. I found a right angle rudder bracket that I didnt use so I cut it shorter and bore 2 new holes.
I mounted the bracket straight to the transom - which moved my rudder about an inch closer to the transom. Lets see how it will perform.

Dosent that put your rudder about where the factory offset bracket sits??? I was thinking of moveing the one on my Genesis like that, it has that same inline rudder/strut setup!!!

I actually wouldnt know as I got a bare hull MG w/o any hardware on it. Since I already had the R2 hobbies in-line strudder when the MG hull arrived, I thought I'd use it.
Of course, I had 2 offset posts made to offset the rudder in the in-line.

Mine seams to work pritty well on my MG but not so well on my Genesis still being inline so i would gess your MG should work better i would think.. then again it could be my Genesis's hull is just so long and narrow!!! I think i my cut the bracket and move the rudder to one side of the transum and bolt it there..maybe!!!

While I have no complaints with my MG, I just thought I'd play around and see what I could experiment on. Stephen needs his sv27 mount back which im using in the MG, so might as well fix my batt placement difficulties with a new motor mount and might as well put a new motor and new esc in the mix while Im at it.
As for the rudder, Im hoping will add more performance being closer to the transom - it shaved almost an inch too in the overall length of the boat, so that aint all bad I guess.
If anything, placing bigger electronics inside is the challenging part - but I think I got it.
