blow over at 48

So I finally got a gps on my MG and started really pushing it but at 48 MPH it blows over I have set the strut level when on the table and batterys 9 inches from rear. Should I move the batterys more forward or should I raise the strut any opinions would be great because the boat is still excellerating when it blows over. It also seems like it starts to bounce right before it turns into a airplane.

I gps mine this weekend and at 44 it was about to blow over with the batteries to the back. This would be a good question to be answered for me also, since I want to go faster but I sure don`t want a blow over...

Raising the strut will only make it worse. Try angling the strut down slightly at the prop end - just a little bit at a time, this will help. But you may also need to move the CG forward. Move the CG forward (not just the batts) 1/4" at a time; too much and the boat will plow, run wet and possibly hook in the turns. It may take a strut adjustment, a CG change or both to fix the flighty antics.

Another fix is to add an air dam under the bow, but try the others first.

Great info thanks you are right because right before it blows over the boat looks like its out of the water literally I need the boat to be more wet I will try lowering the strut and moving cg forward.

crazy boat....last year i had the batteries all the way back and worked great....this year i had to move them forward prob 6 inches from the back and got to try a littel bit farther forward .......

wow im at 9 inches from back i might try getting my gps in the front of the boat i mounted it at the end of the rear left battery tray and the boat has been unstable every since

I measured 9 in from the back of the boat and made a mark on the tray. Placed the rear of the battery on that line facing forward. I also set the strut level with the back of the hull. I have a custom made offset rudder bracket (http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=25857) with a M445 prop. I ran a 6s set up @ 54mph with zero bounce and hint of a blow over.

I already had a blow over at 48mph, but since these mods it a pleasure to run. And with the rudder mod it turns good in both directions.

I think it might be difference in hulls. I had one that would blow over every time at 48mph. I finally cracked the hull up and sold it here. I have another one now and just waiting to get the big motor installed and start trying it again. My buddy has one that has been 55 on the gps and no sign of blowover. Who knows. I also tried all the tricks with strut height, angle etc. Everything just short of lead weight on the nose. That is next. LOL Good luck and enjoy.

why do you need a different hull?

it looks like my hull one sponson is angled and one is flat I thought that maybe it was a bad hull

That is what I have going on to im going to play with the strut and batterys first but I guess I might have to be a body man and and true the sponsons.

You need to lower the center of gravity.... It makes a huge difference by lowering the battery trays.. and I'm hitting over 60mph
