Diesel, what I did was remove the lower strut bolt and use a zip tie instead, as a break away. So when its time to lube the drive I just cut the zip tie and pull the rudder up. Takes 2 seconds! The the drive cable slides right out.

You'll love that outrunner. The 2650 in mine is just for fun. I will mostly run the 3424 now knowing that it can sling a x446 like nothing. It's like running 5S without the extra weight. Man, those outrunners make awesome torque.

Oh BTW, the stock ESC will run the Castle outrunner without breaking a sweat. I just like the T180 cause it seems to have more punch. and more adjust ability. But in a pinch the PB ESC will do!

Yea I use a zip tie on my lower as well. I use breakaways on every rudder now since I had a sv issue hitting a ufo... Still annoyed me lol... Maybe deep down inside I just was looking for an excuse to upgrade/change crap out

I was bashing my stock esc for a while pulling 60 amps cont and peaking in the high 70s. I had a extra 120 laying around and decided to put it to use, to be honest the major reason I changed the esc is I don't like the low rpm throttle contorl or lack their off on the PB's. It's either balls to the wall or nothing, plus more cap room to get crazy with props. I loved the way your Mg ran with the outrunner and like I said I loved that sound! Just watched your other video with the 2650, dang that thing is gettting scary fast!

I agree 100% on the throttle range of the PB ESC. Not very favorable.

For me there will never be a replacement for the 3424 1800 in my boat. I will play with bigger props to get more speed out of t with that setup. That is the motor that I will run 75% of the time. The other 25% will be just getting stupid with this 2650 until I burn or break something. The boat is more than a handful with that motor. As you can see, it's hard to stay on throttle 100% of the time. Plus, the cap temps are a bit high and I don't want to blow my 180.

There is a guy in our group that runs a Neu 1415 1700 on 5S. Now that's fast!!

Castle says exactly 1800. I picked up 2 that I hope will make it in to my Genesis one day. For now 1 finds it's home in the MG and the other is still in the box.

Yeah, those are them. I'm not surprised that they would sell for that much on the bay. Worth it, IMO.
