I see, well, my feeling is that they should be the same length, but hopefully someone else who is SURE of the measurement will chime in to help, good luck!
In any case, I don't know which maker is the one on e Bay, but I can tell you for a few dollars more, the OSE ones are the best!
Just buy a Hughey .150" flkex shaft with a 3/16" stub and cut it to length. Youll have a much higher quality shaft, and its easy to do. Just remember to measure twice before you cut.
A stock BJ 29 flex shaft is 12.75" long from the tip to the threads on the stub. The stub has a length of 2-7/8"
Also I bought a new proboat prop since my other one is long gone. Do I need to balance it?
YES!!! The PB prop is made of steel, although they say it can be used, don't use it w/o balancing . It is heavy( steel) and any unbalance character will be amplified under high RPM thus wearing out your components quickly, especially the bushing in your strut!
You should have just gotten an octura, would have gotten u better performance and lighter material! :/
As to ur question, I agree with tlaunder, u should definently balance it!!!
