I was at a race and threw a friends boat in with the stand still attached! It happens...Originally posted by mikiek View PostJust to lighten things up a little. We all know the way my luck has been going. If it can go wrong it will.
This morning I was getting the boat ready. I put in at a private boat ramp and there's bulkheads on each side. I put the boat on the stand on the bulkheads and load the batteries and make the connections. Everything looked good so I picked up the boat took a few steps into the water and set her down. So I'm bumping the throttle to get beyond the ramp and out on open water. She's acting real squirrelly - trying to turn into a circle, not responding to the rudder. I'm sitting there thinking what in the heck happened now? She's too far out now to wade and get her, a few bumps in reverse got her back within reach. So I picked her out and I'm looking for the stand to set her on. NO STAND. Right then I hear a splash right under the boat. STAND. So that sucker was stuck to the hull when I first put the boat in and I suppose was causing all kinds of drag.
More than a few choice words on that.

That's the problem. My instructions don't show a picture, they just describe it as "adjust the throttle end point". TX is a DX2E . Googling for the instructions show there may be more than one instruction set. I just found one that is for a DX2E but it is not my model. My instructions are SPM2330. This other one is SPM2332.Originally posted by oscarel View PostPut the throttle trim as shown in the boat's instructions. It's on the Proboat site, no need to Google. http://www.proboatmodels.com/Product...rodID=PRB08021Originally posted by mikiek View PostThat's the problem. Green lights come on as soon as I power up the ESCs. They go out as soon as I give them some gas. They come on again when I let off the trigger.Originally posted by fweasel View PostWhen do the ESC lights turn green, at 1/3 throttle when your motors "max out" or at 100% throttle?May your batteries never fail you...

The problem I've been having is the Zelos instructions for the TX and ESC are slightly different than the individual TX instructions and the ESC instructions. Every case where I have found a discrepancy, it's the Zelos instructions that are wrong.Originally posted by oscarel View PostIt's on the Proboat site, no need to Google. http://www.proboatmodels.com/Product...rodID=PRB08021May your batteries never fail you...

Vinny - I was laughing to keep from crying. Yes, I did put her back in the water - nicelyOriginally posted by vinnyp View PostI have been reading all this, trying to learn a few things about calibration. This last post about the stand being stuck to the bottom of the boat made me laugh. Did you run the boat after the trailer fell off?Last edited by mikiek; 05-10-2017, 09:17 PM.May your batteries never fail you...

Ok, don't touch the trim when programming. Try it and report back. Set the trim as shown in the Zelos instructions.Originally posted by mikiek View PostThe problem I've been having is the Zelos instructions for the TX and ESC are slightly different than the individual TX instructions and the ESC instructions. Transmitter instructions don't normally show throttle calibration. There's no way to know what ESC you're using as ESC's have different ways to calibrate the throttle.Originally posted by mikiek View PostThat's the problem. The green lights should go off when you start to apply throttle and turn on again as soon as you reach 100% throttle, which is how you know your ESC's and throttle are calibrated properly and delivering full power. If you don't get solid green lights when the throttle is at 100%, you are not sending full power to the motors.Originally posted by mikiek View PostGreen lights come on as soon as I power up the ESCs. Apologies for my ignorance. Where in the Zelos instructions does it describe setting the trim? I was trying to adjust the throttle travel.Originally posted by oscarel View PostOk, don't touch the trim when programming. Try it and report back. The ESC does seem to be recognizing both batteries - I'm using 2 3S and a series harness per side at the moment. When I power up they beep 6 times which I believe means they see 6 cells.May your batteries never fail you...

There's nothing that shows to set endpoints, only trim. Set it to what shows here.Originally posted by mikiek View PostApologies for my ignorance. Where in the Zelos instructions does it describe setting the trim? I was trying to adjust the throttle travel.
