Zelos 36 ESC problem ?? Help!!

When I arm my ESC 's (using two 3 cel batts in series) I am not getting the correct number of tones/flashes.
All I get is a single low tone/flash and then a single louder tone with flash. Arming is done in the correct manner.
The boat is totally stock and has not been crashed. For several months it was correct and then a month ago it started this.
Boat is only running 50 mph - the batteries are 5000 mah 60c - 120 burst in good shape.

Any one have an idea - Thanks

sounds like you need to program your ESC using your radio your going to have to look that up how to do it

I have checked both ESC "s multiple times using my Dynamite programming card. They check out alike each time with settings as follows-
        1=1 2=6 3=1 4=4

1=1 2=6 3=1 4=4 They are both turned on at the same time per the book. I also did what I believe is a sync check by hooking up a single battery
and pulling a very short full throttle burst. Both green lights came on at the same time at full throttle so ??
I tried calling Horizon - The guy I got didnt know what the deal was. I asked if he perhaps knew someone who might. Said he did and would have
him call me back - never heard from anyone.

Weird. Even though your settings all look good, I would change all of the settings, then change them back to the default just to effect a change in programming state.

Plus don't accept a "no call back" response from Horizon. Call again and immediately ask to speak with a supervisor. Don't hang up, stay on the line until he/she answers. Be polite.

Thanks to you and fweasel for your replies. Will try Horizon again ( have always been polite to anyone on the phone except boiler room repeats)
and I will change settings and try again. What are the SET buttons for - is that a reset?

Its a self-destruct button, don't touch it. Actually, the set button is used to change battery chemistry, so same thing really.

Could it be that they were both pushed by accident and that is what my problem is. My own argument against that though
is the boat probably would not attain 50 mph if I had been dumb enough to do that??

I would reset back to factory myself. I believe if the chemistry button was pushed the light changes to orange, could be wrong. Set cell count to auto after resetting. What brand batteries? Are you sure they arent just dumping under load? Its not easy finding packs that will support a boat and do it well.

What color is the LED light on the ESCs when it arms? If the "set" button was pushed and held, it could have changes the battery chemistry from LiPo to NiMh. The ESC only tones out for LiPo when in LiPo mode which is indicated by a green LED on the ESC when armed.

This is explained in the boat's manual.

NO - they are not dumping under load - this is happening on the table when first hooking up and turning on.
the boat runs just fine but top end (all stock) is 50 mph. My batteries are mixed brands - Venom, Graphene, Turnigy Nano Tech, but are always used
in matched pairs - the same make and values. I tried to do a complete reset with my program card but it would not work. How do I go about this?
                          Thanks for your reply.....

The lights are green on both ESC's for the two beeps that I do get. The tones are one short then one long.
I do read all my manuals - I did a throttle range calibration and right thru step 4 where the ESC's beeped once
and the green light with them was perfect but they still do not arm as they used to - I use two 3s batts in series
so I should get six beeps ??
Somewhere on the forum I read about a test re full throttle - hooking up a single battery and making a brief full throttle test.
The green lights both came back on at the full range of the trigger as I read they were supposed to. Any ideas ? Thanks for the reply........

One further thing I series my batteries by joining the neg to the pos directly at the batteries. I have removed the front part of the harness on the boat
(the first two EC-5 connectors) and then plug the other two batts directly into the boat. The idea was to delete a few connections. Electrically it is still the same - YES?
Or did I create a problem? (I use 5.5 mm connectors)
