I have no idea when he OSE upgrade cables are going to be back in stock and have plans to run my boat with a friend this weekend at his marina. I really don't want to buy another Proboat cable because I have seen so many fail, but Kintec Racing carries upgraded cables and was wondering if anyone has run their cables? Doesn't have to be in a Zelos, just any boat. I just want to know if they are any good? Looks like they would for sure be an upgrade over the stock ones at least.

U can get the cables or wire drive

It was ever so slightly bound in the stinger. I think that little sliver of metal on the solid part of the cable slung out and kinda hung it up inside the bushing. It spun fine, but took a very slight amount of pull to get it out. You can see how the cable sprung open too. I leave like 4mm of shaft sticking out on my boats so they don't bind up. I don't think that is what caused it. Just a bad part I guess?

I've run them in two boats. Definitely an upgrade over stock. No issues.

I got my cables right away but the wire drive I bought was over a week. I cant wait till u guys try them because then I'm gonna order also. letting u guys do the testing LOL

I want to jump up to 45mm props and wanted the extra 4mm of the length the OSEs offer. I mounted my OSE 1.6 pitch 45mm CNC prop off my Blackjack 24 on the Zelos to see if they fit the stock Zelos Twin cables and they just barely fit. I'm going to run 1.4 pitch props which should be a touch shorter I would think? Also ordered bullet prop nuts.

you could use a smaller drive dog, like ose uses.

Small gel coat cracks are pretty normal

These are different from what I saw at my pond. He had wire drives in a boat he built, but also came with the stuffing tube with bearings in it, no Teflon. I am awaiting my wire drives. See what these puppies can / or / cant do :)
I think these will wear the crap out of my Teflon, or if I run it bare, wear my brass tube, or shaft will become thin at the rub point. These wire drives come a couple inches too long from what I'm told, is there a way to relocate the motors further towards the bow and maybe make brass tubes straighter? That would be the ticket lol

Why do you think a smooth wire will wear the brass or Teflon before a rough flex cable would? Seems backwards to me
